Invitationals Schedule and Structure

DATE & TIME: Sat. Sept.  @ 9:30am-3:30pm
LOCATION: Panhellenic House (2770 Wesbrook Mall)

You will be assigned a start time

During Invitationals, the second round, you will visit up to five chapters. When you arrive, your Recruitment Counsellors will give you your personalized schedule.

Invitationals is more formal than Tours. The women in each sorority are likely to be a little more dressed up, and we encourage you to do the same if that would make you more comfortable!

Similar to Tours, when you enter each room, you will be greeted at the door. Some chapters may choose to pair you up with an active member who you have previously talked to, while others may have you meet a new active. Again, you will talk to several women. Some chapters will present a video slideshow and may have scrapbooks available for you to view.

Once Invitationals has come to an end, your RCs will review how to do the online selection process with you once more.

Invitationals Conversation

Invitationals is one of the most important rounds. In Tours (the first round) you should make a great first impression. For Invitationals, you should make a lasting impression. You will want to step up the conversation a little bit and dig a little deeper. Although you may still get asked questions about your major and what activities you do in your spare time, try to steer the conversation in a direction where you talk about the sorority’s values, philanthropy, and programming:
  • Ask the chapter about their values and discuss how they align with your values.
  • Discuss what you are looking for and what attracted the women to join.
  • Ask about leadership opportunities (committees & executive council).
  • Mention why you are interested in joining a sorority and what you are hoping to get out of it.
  • Talk about what you can contribute to a sorority.
  • Ask how the chapter will help new members integrate into the chapter.
  • Make sure that you elaborate your answers when you are asked a question; it will be easier for the sorority women to remember you if you tell a memorable anecdote or share a personal experience.
