Invitationals Conversation

Invitationals is one of the most important rounds of Formal Recruitment. In Tours (the first round) your goal should be to make a great first impression. For Invitationals, you should try making a lasting impression. For this round of recruitment, you will want to step up the conversation a little bit and dig a little deeper. Although you may still get asked questions about your major and what activities you do in your spare time, try to steer the conversation in a direction where you talk about the sororities’ values, philanthropy, and programming. Ask the women about their experiences!

Here are some conversation ideas for Invitationals:

  • Ask the chapter about their values and discuss how they may align with what you value.
  • Discuss what you are looking for in a sorority.
  • Ask about the Big Sister/Little Sister program.
  • Ask about leadership opportunities/executive council.
  • Mention why you are interested in joining a sorority and what you are hoping to get out of it.
  • Talk about what you can contribute to a sorority if you join.
  • Make sure that you elaborate your answers when you are asked a question; it will be easier for the sorority women to remember you if you tell a memorable anecdote or share a personal experience.
