Financial Information

As with any organization, membership in a sorority requires dues. You will find that the cost of belonging to a sorority is well worth it over the course of your time at UBC and beyond. Sorority fees are an investment in the same way your UBC tuition is.

It is important to note that there are one-time costs associated with joining a sorority that make the first year of membership more expensive than subsequent years.

  • First Year Fees: Average $1,100 (Range: $925 – 1300)
  • Annual Member Fees (while at UBC): Average $850 (Range: $700 – 950)

While this may seem like a lot all at once, consider all of the benefits you will receive over the year.  You would likely spend about the same amount on events and activities throughout the year anyway. The cost of sorority membership varies as each group sets its own budget.

Fees include costs such as:

  • intramural sports,
  • social events, and
  • educational programming.

NOTE: Most sororities offer payment plans, which can be divided in monthly or bi-annual instalments.
