Mission Statement

We are sorority women at the University of British Columbia. We work together to support and develop visionary leaders who achieve excellence in all aspects of life; with a focus on service, leadership, scholarship and social involvement. We accomplish this through sustainable growth, collaboration with the community, and the realization of the values and ideals of our international organizations.

Executives

Hana Decolongon President

Hana is a fourth year UBC Psychology student, and is in her third year of being in a sorority and serving on the Panhellenic Council. She believes that the opportunities for leadership, philanthropy, friendship, and self-growth in this community, are like no other. Above all, Hana values the inspiring women that she has met over the past few years in this organization. Apart from UBC Sororities, she is passionate about travelling, blogging, and her work with social media start-up, Tangoo. Hana is very excited to work with Council and facilitate the growth of this group of 800+ spectacular women.

Olivia Maluorni Vice President

Olivia is a second year Arts student at UBC. She first started to gain interest in serving on Panhellenic Council in her first year in a sorority, as she was her chapters Panhellenic Delegate. Expectedly, Olivia is very excited to be the Vice President of UBC Sororities this year; rules and regulations have been a passion of hers since she joined since they allow the organization she loves to function as effectively as possible. To work with the other sorority women on the Panhellenic Council, and to allow UBC Sororities to keep improving, is a privilege that she is honored to fulfill. She hopes to continue improving her leadership skills, as well as gain knowledge and connections through her involvement in the Greek community.

Jade Jones Vice President Recruitment

Jade is in her third year at UBC pursuing a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. She is hoping to attend law school after graduation to become a defense lawyer. Jade is honored to be on the 2017 Panhellenic Council, as joining a sorority helped her discover her strong passion for leadership. She loves being part of the Panhellenic community, where incredible women who inspire and support her every day surround her. When she is not busy with recruitment or studying, Jade can be found eating French fries, petting dogs, or sweating at hot yoga.

Gurpreet Kaur Vice President Finance

Gurpreet is a third year UBC student majoring in International Economics, and is eager to pursue a career in the field of International Development. This is her first year in a sorority and also her first year of serving on Panhellenic Council. Gurpreet is grateful for her encouraging sisters, and is learning a great deal from every one of them. She is also very excited to work with such a diverse group of motivated woman on Panhellenic Council this year, and is thankful for the opportunities that UBC Sororities has provided her with. Her goal is to collaborate and implement new ideas with her fellow Council members. In her spare time, Gurpreet enjoys hiking, yoga and trying out new restaurants in Vancouver.

Kennedy Gagnon Vice President Public Relations

Kennedy is in her second year at UBC, and is pursuing a dual degree with a Masters of Management through the Sauder School of Buisness, and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Sociology. Serving as the Vice President of Public Relations allows Kennedy to explore her interests in PR and digital design, as well as develop her leadership skills and contribute to the Panhellenic Community. She is honoured to be a part of this years Panhellenic Council, and is excited by the opportunity to contribute to an organization that has given so much to her; she has gained life long friendships, and numerous opportunities and connections from her experience in UBC Sororities thus far, and is thrilled to be working alongside such inspiring women. In her spare time, Kennedy can be found exploring Vancouver, hanging out with her friends, and scrolling through Pintrest.

Amie Kim Vice President Programming

Amie is in her third year at UBC, and is in the process of completing a major in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Economics. Having joined her chapter in the second half of her first year, she has been doing her best to contribute to the Greek Community in a positive and meaningful way. Amie believes that her position as Vice President of Programming will allow her to achieve this goal, and provide her the opportunity to reach as many sorority women as possible and make a lasting difference. In her spare time, she likes to play with her cats Chandler and Janice, re-watch Friends for the 200th time, and study with her best friend Tavy.

Cristina Ilnitchi Director of Events

Cristina is in her second year in the Faculty of Arts and is hoping to major in International Relations. This is her first year in a sorority and she is so excited about the many leadership opportunities available, namely being a part of Panhellenic Council. She loves the supportive community in UBC Sororities and is looking forward to spending her year surrounded by ambitious women who encourage and challenge her. Cristina loves to travel and try new cuisines but when she's at school you can find her enjoying cup of a coffee and a novel.

Haruka Higo Director of Operations

Haruka is a second year student majoring in Psychology. Since joining UBC Sororities, Haruka has realized how much being part of this community truly means to her. Not only did she find friendships to last a lifetime, but also a place that she can call home with sisters from all around the world. Haruka is thankful for all the support she receives from the many amazing women that she’s met throughout her time in UBC Sororities. In her free time, Haruka enjoys swimming and traveling. She is excited to work with such an inspiring group of women and can’t wait to see what this year will bring for her and for UBC Sororities.

Jastina Aujla Director of Membership

Jastina is in her first year at UBC, and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree while considering a major in Pharmacology. She is thrilled to be working with an amazing and diverse group of women who will continue to inspire her throughout her years at UBC, and is excited about her role as the Director of Membership. In her free time, Jastina can be found volunteering for the YWCA's Welcome to My Life program, watching Netflix, or instagramming pictures of her dogs.

Samantha Solomon Director of Recruitment Counselors

Samantha is in her third year at UBC and is double majoring in Accounting and Business Technology Management at the Sauder School of Business. Her goal after graduation is to be an IT auditor, however, she ultimately wants to move toward a career in water sustainability. When she's not in the library, you might catch Samantha at the Birdcoop working out and weightlifting. UBC Sororities has exposed Samantha to a valuable network and given her the opportunity to make life-long friendships. Director of Recruitment Counselors will likely prove to be a perfect fit since she had such a positive experience as a Recruitment Counselor this past year!

Zoe Robinson Director of Internal Communications

Zoe is in her third year at UBC, and is pursuing a major in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources with a minor in Psychology. Upon graduation she aims to pursue a Masters in Organizational Psychology. Since joining a sorority in her second year, she has been given several incredible opportunities to involve herself in leadership and philanthropy. She is excited work with such an ambitious and hard working group of women. In her spare time, Zoe enjoys eating great food, skiing and dancing.

Nikeisha Dass Director of Digital Media

Nikeisha is in her third year at UBC, and is currently pursuing a major in Combined Science of Chemistry, Life Sciences, and Earth and Environmental Sciences. She is thrilled to be starting her co-op this year within the health field and ultimately aims to create her a career in the medical field. This is Nikeishas’ first full year in a sorority, and similarly her first experience on the Panhellenic Council. She is extremely grateful for the second family she has found, and for the leadership opportunity UBC Sororities has provided her. Nikeisha is looking forward to helping shape this year for all women in UBC Sororities, alongside the rest of the inspiring women on Panhellenic Council.

Alexandria Sowden Director of Financial Operations

Alex is a second year student who is majoring in Psychology and minoring in German Studies. She plans on attending graduate school and becoming a child psychologist. Alex has been uplifted and inspired by countless sorority women and is looking forward to working with and getting to know even more incredible women from the Panhellenic community through her position as the Director of Financial Operations. After joining a sorority, Alex has developed endless opportunities and lifelong friendships. In her spare time, she can be found knitting, crafting, baking, eating, or spending time with friends.
